Field Application Engineer
The Field Application Engineer will work on our acclaimed morpheme animation product. This position will be based in San Francisco and involves on-site work at development studios in the US. The FAE will work alongside the development and sales teams, giving field application support to film and game studios.
Core to this role is the ability to:
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with developers and artists
- Solve technical issues for clients within their studio environment
- Encourage the take-up and continued use of NaturalMotion products
- Give instructional seminars and demos
- Write concise, useful product documentation
Required skills:
- Strong C/C++
- In depth understanding of animation systems
- Strong background in VFX and / or games animation (ideally with past experience in Alias, Softimage or XSI products)
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in Lua or other high-level scripting languages
Lead Integration Engineer (UE3)
The Lead Integration Engineer will work on our acclaimed euphoria and morpheme products and will be responsible for leading the integration of NaturalMotion’s technology into game engines such as Unreal Engine 3. This role will involve a mix of core product development work and engine integration work. The Lead Integration Engineer will work alongside the development and sales teams. In addition, the Lead Integration Engineer may have occasional onsite visits to customers and technology partners.
Core to this role is the ability to:
- Understand the integration of technology into games engines and other middleware
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with developers, artists and sales engineers
- Solve technical issues for clients within their studio environment
Required skills:
- Experience in working with various in-house or middleware based game engines (UE3 preferred)
- In depth understanding of animation systems
- Strong C/C++
- Strong background in VFX and / or games animation (ideally with past experience in Alias, Softimage or XSI products)
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in Lua or other high-level scripting languages
Behaviour Engineer(s)
NaturalMotion is looking to further expand its behaviour authoring team responsible for the creation of cutting edge AI behaviours for interactive 3D character control.
We are recruiting candidates for this position who:
- are comfortable with advanced engineering maths
- have a familiarity with 3D animation tools
- have a good eye for believable human motions.
We welcome candidates from an engineering background with innovative ideas for synthesising physical human behaviour, as well as animators and TDs with a strong technical capability.
Additionally, experience in scripting languages and C++ is very beneficial.
Game Physics Programmer (s)
NaturalMotion is looking for experienced physics programmers who have a passion for creating and controlling synthetic 3D characters within modern physics engines.
Experience required for this role:
- Strong C++, physics and maths skills.
- Worked with rigid body dynamics for at least one game title.
Additionally, it would be an advantage to have:
- Worked with articulated bodies and/or physical animation.
- Experience with third party physics engines: Havok, Ipion, Karma, Meqon, Novodex, ODE, etc.
- In-house / proprietary physics engines.
- A good degree in a relevant subject.
Successful applicants will be responsible for designing and implementing dynamically simulated characters and their real time controllers.

C/C++ 3D Application Developer(s)
The successful candidate will be involved in the creation, maintenance and extension of professional 3D animation packages used in CG and games studios throughout the world.
Central to this role is the integration and extension of a contemporary 3D renderer and its associated object API for interactive tool use.
Solid C++ skills are a must, as well as team working and the ability to communicate well with a wide variety of people in the CG industry.
The position requires knowledge in the following areas:
- 3D rendering and OpenGL, with user interaction
- Creating high quality 2D and 3D user interfaces
- Large and extensible applications
Additionally, any experience in the following areas would be beneficial:
- Open Scene Graph
- Lua / scripting
